Problem With an Oddly-Arranged Table from MS Word

I have a Word document which contains a table representing a calendar, where the dates are in 7-columns. But preceding the leftmost column is another: merged rows with the month rotated 90 degrees.

Writer can’t handle this table–unless someone has a solution for me. I can send the Word document and a PDF showing what it should look like. My address is eshevin@hotmail.com.

Merging the cells in column 1 wasn’t a problem. Libre 5.2.3 has a bug with rotated text (but AOO 4.1.3 doesn’t, so it’s a regression). You can, however, make a text box in Draw and rotate it, and the text will rotate as it should. Then you can copy and paste the text box in the table.
