I have installed JRE 1.8.0_112 then LibreOffice on a Mac with Sierra 10.12.1 but LibreOffice does not recognise the Java as installed. I cannot therefore create or use the database function to print address labels. What can I do to resolve this please?

For Mac you need to install JDK from Oracle.

I had installed JRE. Installing JDK worked.

I have spent a few fruitless hours trying to resolve this very frustrating problem.

I eventually downloaded the JDK from this page and hey presto it works.

i now have a working Base program

Many thanks for the tip
