Bullet lists appear in my Table of Contents

Supposedly, the table of contents will include headings up to a certain level, left for the user to select. I have inserted a table of contents in a document and chosen to include headings down to the depth of the third order. However, I have found that updating my table of contents will include entries for a bullet list. I find that very troublesome, and would like to know how can I solve this problem.

That’s not supposed to happen. Can you share a sample of a document where this occurs to analyse?

(BTW I don’t know how to post this as a comment instead of an answer.)

“The → table below explains reputation point requirements for each type of moderation task: 3 · add comments […]” — Should work now

Yeah its pretty weird, its actually the second time that happens to me. I managed to bump into the luck of clearing the “Direct formatting” of the elements and then they disappeared from the index. They were showing up as headings in the navigator… who knows how they got there!
