After updating to LO 5.4.2.4 my open icon instead of opening previous documents says “Open Remote File”.
I have to “ctrl o” to open a file and then go to the file to open. Also under “File - Recent Documents” it says “No Files.”
I really appreciated the convience of clicking on the “OPEN icon” to get my files. Is that option available in LO 5.4.2.4?
Re 1: you can restore the Open file button in Tools - Customize, select the Toolbars tab, select Standard and tick Open... (and remove the tick mark in Open remote file if you don’t use that a lot).
Re 2: not quite sure about that, but if you had to reset your user profile recently, you probably lost the history of recently opened files.
EDIT enter your name in Tools - Options - User Data.
I don’t know about “reset your user profile”.
I had to uninstall the previous version of LO in order to install LO 5.4.2.4, so that may have reset my profile.
I had already removed the tick on “Open remote file” icon and have opened several files/documents since then, but it still does not give me a history. Although I only have a tick by the “Open” icon, when I click on the sidebar next to the icon I still get the phrase “Open Remote File.” I also get that which I click on the icon. I have removed the tick by the “Open” icon and restarted LO Writer but I get the same results.
Any other suggestions?
