In any file, check the number of lines in the File->Properties window, "Statistics" tab.

Exit the window, and ad an image or an OLE object.

Reopen the properties window, and check the number of lines. It has gone up by 1. Why does this happen?

Tested with image and version - cannot reproduce.

I just reproduced it in version in the following way:

  • Create a new document.
  • Type a single letter.
  • Add an OLE object.
  • Exit the OLE boject and load the properties window. Go to the statistics tab.
  • Push the "Update" button to update the number of lines. Expected result: 1 line. Actual result: 2 lines.
