Table of contents spans two pages only title on page 1 [closed]

Created a table of contents using Heading 1 as the index. Table looks fine but spans two pages with the title "Table of Contents" on page 1 and the actual table on page 2. More than enough room for it all to be on 1 page. HELP!

Couldn't that be that your contents heading has "Insert page break after" setting set (either manually applied, or in corresponding paragraph style)? Or "Insert page break before" manually set on first contents line?

Possibly, but I cannot figure out how to remove it. Cannot click and backspace. TOC is auto and locked?

got it, removed lock on table and use text flow. Thanks!
