replacing fonts by similar ones

Working with LO under Linux and Redmond on the same files

The data I’m processing with LO 5.x are accessible both under GNU/Linux and a Redmond version.
However, e.g. having finshed a *.odt sheet under one OS the reopening under the other one causes slight to severe layout changes due to the fact, that LO employs the system specific fonts; there are obviously no serious attempts to replace them according to similarity.

As with Redmond the access of fonts on the Linux site is impossible, my idea is to employ Redmond fonts also with LO installed under Linux.

Is there is a way to achieve this, and if, how?

If not, is there another way as to go through all templates with detailed instructions on every font setting?

There are no automatic font replacements (that I am aware of).

Use the font replacement table in the LibreOffice options to replace the fonts with metric-compatible fonts.

Metric-compatible fonts:

• Caladea – matches Cambria

• Carlito – matches Calibri

• Cousine – matches Courier New

• Liberation Mono – matches Courier New

• Liberation Sans – matches Arial

• Liberation Sans Narrow – matches Arial Narrow

• Liberation Serif – matches Times New Roman
