I use Ubuntu 12.10. I un-installed the LO version from the Software Manager, from the terminal with "sudo apt-get remove libreoffice-core". I then downloaded the debian/ubuntu files from the LO home page and installed with "sudo dpkg -i *.deb"

I did this on two machines and neither have Quickstart as an option in the Menu/Tools/Options/Memory

Is this function now removed from this linux build or do I have to install a separate package?

Well, despite searching I found nothing for the Linux version which solves this issue for me. :(

I did have to reinstall 12.10 again, this time i took off the stock LO with the Quickstarter still active. The new upto date LO went on and hey presto has the quickstarter option.
