How to edit your own question?

Hi,

I just committed a faux-pas. Apparently I had added a “comment” or an “answer” when I was updating changes that I discovered in exploring my question issues after my post. I was upbraided for placing this in one of the two categories above.

I’m not sure I want to Edit my Question if it means just appending an update to the original text, do I?

Even if this is a satisfactory route, I saw no path or link to do this, just comment or answer. How do I do this?

Bye the way, in that initial question (that was answered partially), I had asked why the Captcha is posed in a foreign language even when, say, English is selected. This leaves, say, an English speaker trying to intuit, guess, or decipher what they were being asked to do. Also what is a “tag”? What is it supposed to do?

These questions weren’t addressed therein.

I just want to express my hope you were not “upbraided” too badly. I also hope someone else who actually knows will answer to the detail. Looking around again I couldn’t find a hint to the effect you would need some “karma” to be allowed to edit your own questions. I myself find a linked object showing a pencil (?) and labeled ‘edit’ below the contributions I am entitled to edit due to my karma, among them always my own posts. I post this as a comment because of the feeble content.

In case of comments the linked element is just the text “edit”. Older comments are protected against editing.
(I never posted a wiki contribution and would discourage everybody to choose this way. It may feel modest and adequate for a newbie. It (imo) rather causes problems however. Senior contributors can edit every question anyway.

No I wasn’t upbraided to badly. Sometimes late in the afternoon I just get carried away. Thanks for your honest feedback. With fresh eyes I do note the Answer window does hint that “you can always revise your original question”. There?

Just below the question is a bar with options to click - Add a comment at the left, Edit, Retag, etc. You should always be able to edit or delete your own question or answer. Much information about how the Ask site works, is found here: https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/faq/.
