sum does not work

I have a simple spreadsheet with three rows containing 1, 2, and 3, respecitvely. Row 4 contains =SUM(A1:A3). but wjat is displayed is three number or pound signs, “###”. I know lots of folks have had similar problems, but I cannot find anything which resolves my problem.

I have selected data > calclate > autocalculate.

Tools > Libreoffice calc > Formula syntax is “Calc A1” (no idea what that means). It does not seem to matter what I pick for detailed calculation settings.

All this worked a few weeks back, but that may have been with another system. RIght now, I am on Ubuntu Neon.

Doubleclick the border between Columnheaders “A” & “B”

@OP: the problem is too narrow column, so that the result doesn’t fit, so the #‘s are displayed to indicate that. The @karolus’ advise makes the column to auto-size, so that it will become wide enough to hold (and display) the result.
