Hi I am doing something when I write a document that is changing my ability to edit properly. I will try to explain what I mean When I start writing everything is normal. Lets say I want to edit a line now. The normal thing is to put the cursor where you want to edit and start typing, Well it works normally for a while then for some reason when I go to edit again it will not insert my text it just keeps writing over the adjacent word so its impossible to make changes without rewriting the whole setence. I do not know how to stop it doing this For example you see my typo in sentence there, what would happen is that when I would go to insert the n it would write over the t and so on. If I open a new work page the error has gone. I am not a seasoned word processor user so I could be asking something real simple if that’s the case please excuse my ignorance. I could be inadvertently switching something on that makes it do this I simply do not know. I need my Libre Office for a course I am doing so help much appreciated.

This is Overwrite mode, that is toggled by INS key on keyboard, or clicking in special area in LO status bar.

I thought it was me making it go wrong, you have no idea how helpful you have been thank you. I bet anything I have been hitting the INS button when I go to hit delete. They are next to each other on my keyboard. Oh Lord you wouldn't believe how long I have been trying to fix it. Fantastic Thanks.
