date info displays '03/31/17 in downloaded calc file. All the other info may be cut & pasted into a spreadsheet without editing. Date requires retyping the data into the new spreadsheet.
Is there a simple way to eliminate the ’ at the beginning of the date. I have experimented with the file dialogue box settings, but nothing changes the date info as downloaded.
If you are importing via a .csv file, make sure Detect Special Numbers is selected in the Text Import dialog.

select the Column-header of Dates in the preview-window and change column-type m/d/y instead Standard
Select the cells with the ’ in front of the dates. Click on the TAB “data” and select “Text to Columns”
