2016-02-24 18:13:50 +0200 commented answer Is moderation killing Ask LibreOffice?

Neither @evgeny nor @floeff are paid to moderate on AskLibO. Evgeny is paid to fix bugs, administer AskLibO (from a purely technical point of view). Florian is Executive Director of The Document Foundation. So neither of them is to blame for the time that is used in Moderation. Could you please give me some precise hints: Since when is Full Moderation enabled? AskLibO should be able to rely on a self-maintained user base, so has this method worked well so far?

2013-01-15 12:53:51 +0200 answered a question Why aren't spammers banned immediately?

Just to refine the comment of @manj_k:

The site administrators (@cloph, @reinsle, @floeff, @alexanderwerner) are primarily responsible for running this site in a technical way - server infrastructure, database, webserver etc.pp. I for myself try to delete spam and vote at least once a week, @cloph is also very active when he finds the time, but we often have many many other construction sites (infrastructure migration, high availability, virtualization of services, documentation of services, automated configuration management, just to name a few).

The moderators (at the moment @MagicFab, @bjoern-michaelsen, @florian-reisinger) should cope with spam and do all sorts of housekeeping. But they haven't been active any more for quite some time, so it may be necessary to replace them.

I have started a call for moderators on the website list, if you want to become moderator please answer there :)

2012-07-27 12:53:24 +0200 commented answer Can't delete libre office under OSX

It might be useful to note that under OSX Lion this seems to be a problem while emptying the trash for a lot of files (pdf, png, ...), even if the file is not opened/running any more. Restarting the computer helps in this case.

Please also state the version of OSX you are using.

I attempted to delete LibreOffice from my mac and put it in the trash, but it said that it was unable to delete it.

Hi, I will update Askbot to the newest release on 23 June. Hopefully this should fix this (and other) annoying bugs.

2012-03-05 00:31:10 +0200 answered a question Is there any API (AskBot API) for Ask LibreOffice?

Upstream is still working on a RESTful API for askbot, so yet there is none available. AFAIK the API will be very similar or even compatible to the stackexchange API.

2012-03-05 00:11:04 +0200 edited answer Welcome to AskLibo!

This website provides a space where you can ask (and answer!) questions related to LibreOffice. By answering these questions you gain karma and with more karma you gain more rights and influence on the website.

It is therefore important to vote for questions and answers using the arrows and to select the best answer if you are the questioner. The system shows the selected answer at first and the other answers sorted by descending votes.

There are 8 mandatory tags, each question is required to have at least one of them:

  • common - questions regarding LibreOffice in general
  • writer, calc, impress, draw, base, math - questions regarding Writer, Calc, Impress, Base, Math
  • meta - questions about this website

Please be reminded that this is not a forum, so you are encouraged to revise your questions and answers, and comment other questions and answers if they seem unclear, but not to discuss topics. A forum is currently being evaluated and will be available soon.

At the moment this website is english only, but we are working with the developers of askbot to provide localization of both user interface and questions/answers.

Linking to the bugzilla can be done by prefixing the bug with fdo#: fdo#12345

2012-02-14 12:51:18 +0200 answered a question Link askbots (e.g. askubuntu)

Askubuntu is not an askbot installation but uses the proprietary and hosted stackexchange platform. While stackexchange provides an API, it would require deep intrusion in the askbot code and possibly violate stackexchange's TOS. But it is be possible to introduce autolinking to askubuntu, perhaps using a syntax like #askubuntu:96161 to link to</p<>>
