Someone must have agreed with me. Problem mentioned above does not occur on Version 4.2.4.2 (Build ID: 420m Build:2)

I am using Version 4.0.2.1 (Build ID: 400m0(Build:1)) under Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit. This is first time since upgrading to 4.0 that I used Impress. Many of my menu items that are very important to me are greyed out. For example, these include Edit Undo Redo Cut Copy and Format Position and Size. Why have these very important functions been greyed-out. How do I get them reinstated? Why does LibreOffice Impress now have reduced functionality?

This problem now occurs with Writer. Problem occurs when editing old file as well as when starting new files. File permissions are correct.

The best answer here is to have the MS Office users download and install the Sun ODF Plugion for MS Office. With that plugin, you can keep out of doc and docx (and especially ppt and pptx).

I am preparing a fairly simple business letter saving it as docx. I had everything perfect yesterday. When I opened it this evening, text at top of document was mixed with text at bottom of document and hard returns at the ends of paragraphs were changed. Moreover, the page margins were changed to the Librewriter default.

How do I keep Librewriter from making these changes. My clients need documents as docx.

I am running LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 under Win XP Pro SP3. I am attempting to create an on-screen presentation that will eventually need to be converted to PP 2007. First, Impress will not retain the page size setting of 10 inches by 7.5 inches. Second, the same also occurs for text boxes, etc., even when I lock down position and size. I have started with a blank presentation. How do I turn off all the features in Impress that want to autosize and/or make other changes in my presentation that I do not want?
