2012-05-10 23:13:02 +0100 answered a question Error 1316

1316 error on windows is caused when the windows registry still has some information about the application but cannot find the installer file to remove it.
to fix this:
start > run > regedit
go to HKLM\Software\Classes\Installer\Products
search for libreoffice34.msi
delete the key found in 'Products' that contains the above
the above tells Windows that X is not installed.

2012-03-01 20:05:53 +0100 answered a question Why is version 3.5.0 "recommended" on the Download page? It has poor (almost beta) quality.

I do agree with you that the front page and download page should also display 3.4.5
However, on the release-notes, it does point this out.
3.5: This is the initial release from the 3.5 branch of LibreOffice.
It contains many exciting new features, and is the recommended version for power users.

3.4.5: fixes the most-important bugs identified by users in the previous version, and of course can be deployed for production needs. aka average joe

2012-02-29 06:44:39 +0100 commented answer Installation failure on Windows 7

You should make sure the quickstarter is not running in the background. Terminate soffice.exe, soffice.bin, scalc.exe, swriter.exe etc... If that does not work, try to re-install 3.4.5 and then remove it.

2012-02-27 20:42:44 +0100 answered a question LO 3.5 - MS-word work VERY SLOW

I just looked at the document you posted. Same 'lag' effect here. Copy/paste the contents with special "unformatted text" and it is smooth. Maybe There is a formatting style that LO does not like... will need to reduce the document to the bones to figure this out.

2012-02-27 12:27:03 +0100 answered a question 3.5 Won't Run!

The installation of 3.5 over 3.4 does not remove or correctly update the AppData information. You can try renaming or deleting the C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice folder before trying to re-install everything.

2012-02-27 07:24:24 +0100 answered a question Installation failure on Windows 7

Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Ctrl+F to find LibreOffice
Delete the Key that contains the found item
Repeat with HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products

This should tell Windows that the software is not installed.

2012-02-24 14:01:50 +0100 answered a question Change the default for File Open Viewmenu

By default, LO opens the default window manager on the OS.
You can change the views from it's settings or you can use the LO dialog window by clicking Tools>Options>LibreOffice>General>check Use LibreOffice dialogs under Open/Save

2012-02-24 10:31:48 +0100 answered a question How do I select the Sun JRE with LibreOffice 3.5 on GNU/Linux?

On Mint 11 here. LO picked up "/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-" automatically
Had a different version as well and manually pointed to "~/jre1.6.0_30" and LO did the rest.

2012-02-24 09:57:44 +0100 answered a question Can I have continuous coloring of cells by conditional formatting?

You could make a macro to do this. See here

Other options are out there such as creating new styles and using conditional formatting but you will not get the range in colors.
