2016-02-24 15:36:11 +0200 commented answer How can I set my curser in Libre to highlight rather than make text invisible

Paul: Viola! Yesterday while I was typing in Libre the screen went blank, like with a power outage but I do not think we had a power interruption and when the screen reappeared I clicked yes to "recover the document" and the "lost" text reappeared. Since then the cursor works the way it should-highlighting the text. Only change is that cursor now is a straight line attached to a triangle which changes to a double triangle when I am in the middle of the page. What happened? Thanks RobG

Thanks Paul but that does not seem to be the solution. I clicked on the Format painter icon but all I ended up doing was removing it from the tool bar. I guess I will have to remove the Libre program and download a new one. Rob G.

2016-02-15 11:57:00 +0200 asked a question How do I change things so when I left click my mouse and move my cursor over the text that the text is not made invisible but rather is highlighted?

Before in the libre program and even now in my Thunderbird program (and even now as I am writing this question) when I left click on my mouse and drag it over text I want to edit (by deleting it or changing its size or color etc) the text is highlighted so I can continue to see what I am editing. But for some reason recently in Libre when I left click on my mouse and drag it across the text, the text becomes invisible. The text stays invisible until I move my cursor back over the invisible space where the text was, then it reappears. While the text is invisible I can make an edit and when I move my cursor to the left back over the text the text appears with the edit made; but it is very difficult for me to edit this way.

Thank you very much. This is very frustrating for me.

I have asked this question before and checked the Libre site but my question has not appeared. For some reason when I now try to highlight text in Libre by moving my cursor across the text while left clicking on my mouse, the text becomes invisible rather than being highlighted. I am sure it is not a problem with my mouse settings because the cursor highlights text when I use it, for example, to edit an e-mail in my Thunderbird program.
