Running LO v 6.4,6.2. Trying to install extension ExportAsImages and get "Cannot detect media type" during both install and remove. This is on Ubuntu 20.04. The extension has made it to the .config/Libreoffice extensions directory. It apparently does not add the Export as images ... file menu addition.

Any ideas? Thank you.

2017-01-06 21:42:32 +0200 asked a question Extension manager broken?

I've used the Extension Manager before so I know it used to work. Now running macos 10.12 Sierra or Windows 7. On macos I have LO 5.1, Win 7 is running 5.2. I tried to install LanguageTool on both. On the Mac either an install or just asking it to check for updates sends LO W into a state were it uses 147% of two CPUs and grabs more and more memory until the system complains about it grabbing all there is and has already begun to suspend other processes. On win 7 it just goes into a resource loop and never comes back but nevers seems to grab any resources. Tried installing Lightproof on Win 7. Same problem.

Is this a known issue at all? Is there a fix? Is anyone working on it?

Thank you.

Thanks for all the help and comments.

The issue with Writer to MS Word 2008 seems to have been that the default fonts weren't the same. I set LO Writer to the same as MS W 2008 and documents then passed between them without funky alterations in MS W.

The issue between Calc and Excel is still unresolved.

Further investigation shows that after transferring back to MS Word the single or double quote and the blank after it are treated as a single character. This also somehow contaminates the document. Any contraction I type anew has the same problem unless I pull the new document cut and paste trick. This is very annoying.

Have Windows 7 running LibreOffiice 5.1.2.2 and OS X 10.5 running MS Office 2008. I've noticed the using an MS Office Excel generated xlsx file used in LibreOffice Calc and then transfered back using xlsx fie format, keeps the numbers and formulas but apparently loses the formatting. I need to redo the formating on MS Excel to fix.

Also a similar transfer from MS Word to LibrOffice Writer and back takes any added single and double quotes after transfering back to MS Word and apparently adds a blank space after them mucking up contractions and quotes. Unclear whether this affects just all single and double quotes or the whole document. To fix I have to open a new document, write the quote or contraction I want and cut and paste it back.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? Thank you.
