Thanks, mariosv. That works by creating a new sheet. It is, of course, trivial to cut the data from that sheet and paste it into the sheet I'm trying to update. I was looking for a way to insert the rows directly. I don't see why it's necessary to maintain links - it is a one-off operation.

Context LibreOffice 4.2.0.4 running on Mageia 4 (x86_64) I want to be able to construct one or more new rows of data for a Calc spreadsheet offline (eg CSV) then import them via a macro when I start Calc.

Thanks for the pointer. I haven't had to install the EN-GB language pack before, so now I'll keep a lookout for the language pack. Graeme

My attempted installation of the Help Pack Linux - rpm (x86_64), version 3.6.3, English (GB) failed because the module loaded by the main Libreoffice 3.6.3 install was libobasis3.6-en-US. "# urpmi libobasis3.6-en-GB-help-3.6.3.2-2.x86_64.rpm A requested package cannot be installed: libobasis3.6-en-GB-help-3.6.3.2-2.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied libobasis3.6-en-GB) Continue installation anyway? (Y/n) n" Where can I get hold of the en-GB version please?
