2018-05-21 21:02:21 +0200 marked best answer what makes a good tag?

What makes a tag the most useful? I see all sorts of variations of the same words and combinations with _ or -

In short, there is inconsistency and a lot of clutter.

Is that a problem for conducting good searches? If so, what guidelines should be used for creating tags?

2018-03-09 13:07:10 +0200 marked best answer what is needed in crash report

When LibreOffice asks us if we want to send a crash report, I always say yes. It also asks us to provide further information. I have two questions about this:

  1. Do we need to provide further information for the crash report to be useful or is the crash report on its own useful?
  2. What information would make a crash report more useful? I imagine it would be helpful to know what we were doing at the time but is there anything else?

Many thanks to the volunteers for providing this wonderful program. I would like to do my best to make it even better.

2018-03-08 20:44:13 +0200 marked best answer some text flush left and other text flush right on same line

Equations need to be flush left and equation numbers flush right. The distance between equations and numbers will vary, depending on the length of the equations.

This could be done with tables but I want to know if there are other ways. Also, I am not asking about justification. There needs to be blank space between text on the left and text on the right.

Is there a name for this type of alignment? What is the easiest way to do this?

2018-03-07 05:04:25 +0200 marked best answer insert paragraph break before numbers

I have a list of questions and answers. All questions begin with a number and I would like to insert paragraph breaks before those numbers.

Using regular expressions, the numbers could be identified by ^[0-9] and for replacement, \n inserts a paragraph. However, I cannot figure out how to specify that the numbers should be retained.

I have looked over the LibreOffice and OpenOffice references and have not found the way to do this. It must not be hard. Perhaps it would be easier if I knew what this property is called.

2018-03-04 02:24:14 +0200 marked best answer how to use search & replace to make superscripts?

I am editing a document and want to change numbers used in scientific notation to superscript. For example, I would like to make all occurences of -5 appear as superscripts. There must be a way to use search and replace to change all -5s, then all -6s, etc. I just don't want to make each change individually.

In the search and replace window, there is a superscript option. However, it searches for superscripts. I don't want it to do that but rather to change normal numbers to superscripts. What am I missing?
