I try to make my questions succinct and clear. I don't think the questions are so difficult as to have no answer. However, sometimes they are not answered. Should I:

delete the question and post it again? or respond to the question saying that I still need help? (does that put the post at the top of the list again?)

Thanks, Cathy

2017-09-10 18:35:07 +0200 marked best answer How stop automatic bullets?

When I press Enter, a new paragraph starts with a bullet and indent. This is even though the text is not formatted for bullets. Clearing all direct formatting doesn't make the bullets go away.

I don't see formatting or codes that make this happen and am stumped.

Any idea what is happening?

2017-09-10 18:33:39 +0200 marked best answer how lighten & resize pdf in Draw

A pdf looks like it was made from photos that were then saved as a pdf. It is text only and there is no color (other than highlighted text) but the background of each page is dark. One page is attached.

Is there a way to lighten the background? If the background cannot be lightened, is there a way to lighten the whole document (so the text would be lighter as well)? If so, can that only be done page by page or can all pages be lightened at once?

Also, on some of the pages (but not all) the images do not cover the full page. I know that I can resize each image individually but does there happen to be a setting that would resize all of the images at the same time? I doubt there is such as setting but thought it worth asking.

Finally, while the file is only 35 pages, it is about 20 megs. Is there a way to reduce the size?

2017-09-10 18:31:23 +0200 marked best answer how use same footnote symbol

I would like to use the same footnote symbol for several items on the same page. That is, I would like 3 sentences on different parts of the page to be marked with * and only one footnote at the bottom of the page that would apply to all 3. It looks like this can't be done directly but I wonder if there is a macro or some other way to enable this.

Thank you for any ideas.

2017-09-05 02:09:18 +0200 marked best answer which version LO installed: 64 or 32

I just upgraded to 5.4.1.2 on a Windows 10 64-bit computer and LibreOffice no longer recognizes the installed Java (which is 64-bit).

It occurred to me that I accidentally installed the 32-bit version of LibreOffice without realizing it. When I look at the download page, the 64-bit version is selected by default. Even though it is unlikely, I still want to check if I have the 32-bit version installed.

When I checked "about LibreOffice", I expected to see something telling me if the installation is 64 or 32. However, I don't see such information. How can I find out which version is installed?

Thank you.
