Is there a way to change the query a report sources its data from?

I have a report I've created that will work well for another query, and rather than rebuilding the report from scratch in the report Wizard, I'd like to just duplicate the report and change the query it refers to. But I cannot find anyway to do that.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Is there a way to construct a formula to produce a sum based on several criteria?

For example, I'd like to get a sum in L3 of column F where it's today's date (column A), and the symbol in column B = K3.

I tried several things with SUMIF, but it's beyond my meager abilities.

Many thanks in advance for any ideas.

Thanks for the response John! That works! Many thanks!

Thanks Leroy! Yes, I'm trying to get all the values in F3 for today's date where the symbols in B column match K3. Also

Is there a way to set up a formula that changes based on the value in another cell?

I have a summation cell in column G, but I want the value to be calculated differently based on the symbol in column B. Right now I'm doing it with a conditional IF formula, but that only gives me two options. Since I want to use 5 or 6 different symbols appearing in column B, I'm looking for a way to automate that calculation which is different for each symbol.

Many thanks for any suggestions or guidance. image description

I have a query that produces two columns. Each line of the columns is a sum of fields grouped by fields in the master table. I'm trying to create a third column that subtracts one column from the other.

In the image below I'm trying to subtract "PL_Total" from "Long_Basis" for each "Trade_id". But I'm not having any success.

Can anyone suggest a way to make this work? Many thanks for any suggestions!

Yes! Of course "Hide Selection" Why didn't I think of that? Many thanks!

Thanks Mr. R. Yes, it's a totals field. I did change the field properties as you indicated (including style guide), but it's still coming up with the amount selected.

I've attached a sample copy of the data base. The form where this is occurring is called "Long_Stock"

I'm working on a Mac OS 10.10.5, LO version 5.2.4.2

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

There's a ton of data in this entire project. Let me see if I can create a stripped down version to upload. Standby... thanks!

This falls into the "hope this is your biggest problem" category, but I created a form with a calculated field in it. Every time I open that form, the contents of that field are selected and highlighted.

I thought maybe changing the tab order might stop it from doing this, but it still opens up selected. I've tried a few other things and nothing changes it.

Any thoughts on how to stop it from selecting this field?

Many thanks! dm

2017-01-28 23:22:56 +0200 marked best answer division calculation in base

I have a query in Base that produces two columns of numbers. I'd like to create a third column that produces the results of dividing one column by the other column.

Seems like it should be easy, but I've not been able to come up with the solution.

Any thoughts or help would be most greatly appreciated.

Thanks, dm
