2013-02-23 01:28:55 +0200 commented question A calc sheet created before 3.6.5.2 only shows formulas instead of results after formula edit

I think this question should be closed.

2013-02-23 01:25:42 +0200 asked a question Is there a work-around for the formula/value display problem?

At first I thought I had made an error and asked this question. But now it seems to be a bug. I first saw this in Calc 3.6.5.2. I tried to downgrade to the prior version but was stymied by a library dependency. So I upgraded to 4.0.0.3 and the same thing occurs.

To wit: After editing a spreadsheet formula, the cell will no longer display the value (text) but only will display the edited formula. Unedited formula cells still show values. Changing the formula display in Calc options has no affect.

I don't know how long it will take to get these bugs fixed, and I'm pretty much stuck on a project until I can get a workaround at least.

Bugs filed are: Display formula in cell instead of value of result after editing formula, unedited cells not affected and VIEWING: Values not shown in cells, only formulae.

@mariosv Thanks, but using a new profile in this case did not change the result.

2013-02-12 23:47:09 +0200 asked a question A calc sheet created before 3.6.5.2 has had all relative cell references converted to absolute.

A well used calc spread sheet after opened in Version 3.6.5.2 for the 1st time has had all relative references converted from relative to absolute.

i.e.

=IF('Basic Track Data'!$A5=0,"",'Basic Track Data'!$F6)

has become

=IF('Basic Track Data'!$A$5=0,"",'Basic Track Data'!$F$6)

and

=IF(ISBLANK($A$4),"",LOWER(ROMAN(IF(ISBLANK($A$4),0,$A$4),4)))

has become

=IF(ISBLANK($A4),"",LOWER(ROMAN(IF(ISBLANK($A4),0,$A4),4)))

This can create problems since the calc will produce the same results until a formula with relative references is edited i.e. by adding rows or columns, etc.

I suspect this is a bug but Bugzilla is down.

2013-02-12 23:29:53 +0200 asked a question A calc sheet created before 3.6.5.2 only shows formulas instead of results after formula edit

A well used calc spread sheet returns as display in cell the text of the formula whenever the formula has been edited, and not the value of the formula calculation. Unedited formulas still return values (until edited).

Menu:Tools→Options⇒Options(Popup)⇝LibreOff Calc⇝View:Display:Formula Box is unchecked. Toggling this has no effect, except that text of formulas are displayed for all formulas when the box is checked.

Re-entering formula even using formula wizard has no effect.

The calc sheet has multiple sheets and cross sheet references.

I suspect this is a bug but bugzilla is down. Show stopper for this calc sheet.
