2014-09-01 20:59:14 +0200 asked a question How do I get libre office to remember my place in a document?

Until now, Libre Office always remembered where I was at in my document, but after a fresh install, it no longer remembers. I write fiction, so we're talking about having to page through chapters of a novel every time I open it, and trying to find my place.

How do I make it remember where I was in my document? I've already tried entering my user information, but that didn't help.

Well, maybe I can try that. The error is persisting, too. I uninstalled libre office and re-installed it, again, but once again, the first time I try to save to rtf, it crashes. Only after I recover the file, and try again, does it seem I can save to rtf. Maybe this has something to do with exceptionally large text files? I would imagine if people with smaller files were having the same problem, everyone would probably be more aware of it, by now.

I am already using 4.0. (And don't know a thing about filing bug reports.) If the software doesn't work properly, and I can't find a way to fix it, then all I can do is try to find another program to use that doesn't have this problem.

I use Libre Office (on Win XP, if anyone cares), to write fiction. So we're talking text files that can get pretty big.

The problem I'm having is that time and time again (though not EVERY time), when I attempt to save files to rtf or txt formats (because I'd rather not end up, as I did in open office, with whole documents converted into nothing but pages of '####' signs and not a darn thing I can do about it), Libre Office crashes. It has done this repeatedly now, even after un-installing and re-installing the product. This is happening quite often when I attempt to save my files into one of these formats (probably rtf specifically, because it's the first format I tend to save to, of the two).

Is this a known glitch? Or is there a way to fix it?
