OS Ubuntu 18.04 up-to-date patches

LibreOffice 7.0.3.1

I made a new default template for Writer, three changes, font, font size and printer settings to use duplex. It works fine for new document.

I noticed that when I open a text file (.txt) and save it as an Open Document file (.odt) using Writer, it doesn't use the default template.

I wasn't expecting this behaviour so I had to reprint a few documents.

I'm guessing that since I am saving an existing document, even though it is plain text document, Writer doesn't use the default template but whatever settings the original document had.

If this is true, is there a setting I could change to make it use the default when creating a new document from a text file?

Thanks

I'm running Ubuntu 18.04, up-to-date on patches.

Using LibreOffice 7.0.3.1

I ran into a problem with the alt menu and tried to take a screen shot. Clicking on the Screenshot program causes LibreOffice Writer to close the open menu. Makes sense, Writer isn't the active window.

I tried using the PrtScn key but nothing happens while the alt menu is open. If I close the menu the PrtScn key works as expected.

Is there a way, without pointing a camera at my monitor, to get a screen shot of the LibreOffice alt menu?

2020-07-28 18:05:47 +0200 marked best answer Autocomplete date in Writer does not enter the current date, it enters the date Writer was started

I’m using LibreOffice Version: 6.0.7.3 Build ID: 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 under Ubuntu 18.04

When using Writer I often enter a date in the format “YYYY-MM-DD”.

When I Enter “202” AutoCorrect (I’m guessing) gives me the option of entering a date, right now “202” becomes “2020-01-16” today's date.

Except I found out this isn’t today’s date, it’s the date Writer was started.

I checked the AutoCorrect options and can’t find any for dates.

Is there some way to have AutoCorrect insert the current date?

Thanks

2018-10-24 15:47:28 +0200 marked best answer Format->Page->Sheet affects all sheets in a spreadsheet

OS Windows 7 Pro 64 bit patched

LibreOffice 6.0.6.2 64 bit

Under LibreOffice calc I created a spreadsheet years ago. Each sheet had its own page format for printing. Format->Page->Sheet->Print order

None of these sheets are that large.

Small sheets were set to “Fit print ranges to width/height” of one.

Larger sheets would normally be set to two pages high.

With the rare one left at 100%.

Recently, maybe with the update to 6.0.6.2 but I’m not sure all the sheets must use the same page formatting. Small sheets are now spread over two pages or large sheet become unreadably small on one page.

My current solution is to format the page prior to printing, not an elegant solution. Next up would be breaking each printing style of sheet into their own spreadsheets.

Is there some option to let each sheet save its own page format or an option that removes that ability?

Thank you

Luke
