2013-07-08 20:45:57 +0100 answered a question Libre Office wont load calc documents

This is not the answer, but a comment: Can you tell us

  • what version you are using,
  • what operating system
  • and: is it possible to you to open any other calc file you created with LibreOffice? Create a new calc file, write some numbers in it, save it, close LibreOffice and try to reopen this file with LibreOffice. Does that work?
2013-07-08 20:41:54 +0100 asked a question unable to open ppt powerpoint file

I am unable to open powerpoint ppt files. When I try it, I get a dialog box asking me to select encoding (UTF-8) and a font type and a language.

I know this is the same question/problem as this: http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/6113/impress-not-able-to-open-microsoft-powerpoint-file/

The answer there was to use a newer version of LibreOffice, i.e. version 3.6. I am using version Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:2)) on Ubuntu 12.10 64bit.

How can I tell LibreOffice to open the file with Impress?
