Hello!

The document I am formatting has several long tables that do not fit on a single page. I have been instructed to indicate a continuation on the table on to the next page as follows:

There should be a continuation statement at the top left of the page to indicate that the table is continuing onto this page. The statement should say “Table 7 (cont’d)”

How can I best achieve this? Using the header will obviously create text on all of the pages.

Thanks much. Lisa

Hi forum,

I don't know how to achieve the spacing I want with the TOC in a master document. I have formatted the Bibliography Heading style as Level 1 so that it appears justified to the left in the TOC and in the proper position. Chapter titles are also formatted in Heading 1 style (outline Level 1). However, I cannot seem to figure out how to achieve spacing like this with the paragraph styles and outline levels I'm using. https://grad.msu.edu/sites/default/fi...

I need the chapter contents all single spaced and then a double space between chapters. I understand that I can edit the Contents 1 style but adjusting the spacing of this style (adding space above or below the paragraph style) does not format the bibliography in the way I need. I think I need the bibliography TOC headings formatted in a different Outline Level but I only want the first two levels to show in the TOC.

Ideas? I'll review the documentation as well.

2020-07-02 09:20:30 +0200 marked best answer Separate list of tables in TOC for each chapter? [solved]

I'm formatting a master document that is essentially three stand-alone chapters/essays. I have created the main TOC for the document as a whole without a problem BUT

Each chapter/essay has a bunch of tables and figures and the author has labeled these to be a part of the individual essay, rather than the document as a whole. So, essay #1 has Table 1, Table 2, Table 3. Essay #2 also has several tables, which are numbered Table 1, Table 2, Table 3. As these are stand alone essays, each independent from each other, I think that restarting the table numbering in each chapter makes sense. But here's the question: can I create an Index of Tables for each individual essay that I could insert in the front matter? Is this even possible with LO? Page numbers, of course, have to be sequential throughout the document, so I don't think I can turn off the text flow option to achieve this.

Any ideas or thoughts about how to best handle this in terms of formatting the master document? It wouldn't be the end of the world to have tables numbered sequentially throughout the document as a whole, but I'm hoping for a more elegant way to do this.

Thanks much. Lisa
