Nowadays, we insert manual page jumps, ajusting manually page numbre incrementing to agree with number of PDF pages inserted... which usually ends with miinumbered documents!! :-( As said, with small PDF listings, we convert each page in a SVG image, and insert them as graphics in the writer document (which, in the other hand, is nice, as allows us to keep control of page heading, orientation, numbering...). 2016-02-24 15:16:44 +0200 asked a question How to insert PDF lists in writer I would like to insert huge listings generated in PDF; they have many table and paragraph erratic formats, so translating them to DOC or ODT or copy-pasting doesn't works 100% right. Moreover, I would like to make minimum processing on them, due to it's continuous changing. Inserting them in a master-document as external-references would be perfect for me; as well as Writer were able to recognize and print the pages or the PDF, and make a right count of the corresponding page jumps, I don't have the need to see them in the WYSIWYG writer environ nor edit the PDF listings. Nowadays, with small documents, we convert them to SVG and import every page as a graphic, but it's a mess and implies a lot of manual work... :~( 2016-02-24 15:16:24 +0200 answered a question How to insert pdf drawings? We use to generate tones of docs with partial vectorial info from PDFs (made from CADs) and the best (or less bad) option is to translate them to SVG using the open source program INKSCAPE, and import them as graphics. INKSCAPE is a huge soft, ala CORELDRAW and it has a lot of command line options; we translate the PDFs using the command line (in Window's CMD.EXE, but I supose it's right for other OS): C:\PATH\TO\INKSCAPE.EXE -z -f file.pdf -D -l file.svg Nevertheless, take into account that the generated PDFs will be bigger (near twice or three times, but no more) than the original PDFs, but after many attemps, INKSCAPE was the smaller SVG generator found. There will be a delay first time you invoke INKSCAPE. Regards. 2016-02-24 15:16:10 +0200 commented question How to convert PDF to ODT? Nice question! Is there any way of numbering chapters not with numbers nor letters (alphabetically ordered) but with arbitrary words? Lets say I must number/title chapters with a list made of {"DLL" "DMT" "DMC" "DJ" "DV" "DSS" "DG"}, so first chapter will be "numbered" "DLL.- Fist Chapter Title" and sub-chapters should be numbered as "DLL.1.-", "DLL.2.-", but 2nd chapter gets numbered "DMT.-" and sub-chapters "DMT.1.-", "DMT.2.-" and so on... I've been fighting with same problem for years, and I've read (and tested) a manual parcial solution: in the content.xml file you wil find auto-created styles (in my installation they're named "P1", "P2"...) with a fo:break-befor="page" attribute; if you delete all that attributes (editing with NOTEPAD.EXE, f.e.), re-compress de content.xml and open de modified document, you'll find all the page-breaks (and I mean ALL) deleted; you should insert them again where they where, and save the document. Now, if you insert it in the master document... TADA! it will insert exactly next to the last text line over the cursor. Docucraft! ;-) 2013-11-17 01:15:30 +0200 commented answer How do I prevent master document adding additional blank pages? Sorry, I've continued trying options, and clashed to (my provisional) solution: - In the sub-document (ODT file) get sure all the table text has the same style assigned (in my doc, "Table Contents"). - In the Master Doc (ODM file) open Format/Style and Formatting (or press F11), right-click your table text style, which should be the same as in the ODM (remember, in my ODM and ODT files, "Table Contents"), go to tab "Indents & Spacing" and UNCHECK "Register-true" option. - Verify that the rest of the style in the Master keeps as similar as possible to the sub-document. Et voilà!! :-D It seems that LibreOffice, in general, is gettint more and more fragile with formats, as options grow. Hope it helps you (it did to me ;-). 2013-10-30 09:22:25 +0200 commented question why are some subdocument tables truncated in the master document? I'm having the same problem: tables look perfect in the ODT, but when inserted in the Master Document (ODM) they get totally missformated (rows get huge, or microscopic height). I've checked formats both in ODT and ODM, but doesn't seems to affects. By the way, I've made answer 1 changes, but nothing seems to work... Working in LO 4.1.2.3. BTW, it takes a long time to import the ODT in the ODM in every DOC upgrade; it's a long table... ;-) 2013-10-05 21:02:52 +0200 commented question Writer: Unwanted Page Breaks before Linked HTML Sections I don't have and answer neither, but I had similar problem linking documents in a Master document (which are introduced as section). Some sections get inserted in the line beneath the cursor position, and some forced a page-break, with no aparent cause. It was resolved making an exhaustive garbage format cleaning of the text, but if your text is born from your C# routines, it's suposed to be exactly formated ¿isn't it?
