2020-09-11 04:42:39 +0100 marked best answer Copied reduced image returns to original size

Copying reduced image & pasting to another drawing; copied image reverts to original size. Image reduced with lower right slide bar. How can I paste it so it stays reduced? Copied image is to be small part of other drawing. Thanks.

Re: comments below:

  • Images were both jpg imported to draw which made them odg.

  • Initially inserted by 'copy' & 'paste' -- will now try 'insert > image' & report back.

  • Shrunk image dragging slide bar in lower right corner.

  • Selected the image with 'copy' after shrinking it.

Thanks, ajlittoz.

OK. Tried 'insert > image' but it didn't like .odg file ("unknown image format") & didn't even show them in the folder: only showed original .jpg file. When I tried to export image as .gif or .jpg it wouldn't take just the image when I tried to set width & height but took a whole page even though I's set the slide dimensions to the image. This is a book cover & I'm just trying to add details to a photo & and crop the photo a little on the left edge to make it the necessary dimensions (13" W x 9.25" H).

Greetings Gentlefolk, I have a photo in LO Draw and want to add text to it in specific places to avoid obscuring important photo details. How can I accomplish that? It's only a small amount of text: just title & author's name for book cover. I use LO a lot, but so far only for text -- have never used LO Draw before. I use LO 6.1.6.3. Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Al

2020-04-01 22:19:42 +0100 marked best answer How change page numbering for appendix?

At the end of my text doc there is a short appendix. I want to discontinue the doc page numbering in the header and number the appendix pages A-1, A-2, etc. So far, everything I’ve tried to change the style in order to begin a new header has either had no effect, deleted headers from the entire doc, or replaced headers for the whole doc with the new header. From comments and questions I’ve viewed online, this seems to be a common problem. It would be OK if I could just eliminate headers from only the appendix and manually enter a pseudo header as the first line on each appendix page (it’s only a few pages). It seems like it should be such an easy thing to switch styles at and specified point in a doc, but apparently not. I’m using version 6.1.6.3 and reluctant to upgrade as that usually means trading knon problems for unknown ones.
