2021-02-21 13:44:24 +0200 marked best answer IFS function not working in OpenOffice 4.1.9

Hello guys,
I updated to OpenOffice 4.1.9, resulting in an error in all the IFS functions of my existing .ods file.
The file worked in the previous OpenOffice version.
Opening the file in the new OpenOffice version changes the formula from =IFS... to =com.microsoft.ifs(....
(see screenshot)
image description

My example file is attached below, too.

I've tried the following:
- manually replace =com.microsoft.ifs(... with =IFS which changes into =ifs after pressed ENTER
- create a new spreadsheet and type in a simple IFS formula results in =IFS being changed to =ifs after pressed ENTER

I tried @erAck's solution to a similar problem, but it did not work for my problem: https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/questi...

My question:
Does anybody have a solution?
Also, I do not find the IFS function in function Wizard. Does the current OpenOffice version got rid of the IFS function all together?

test file: C:\fakepath\test.ods

Thanks in advance as always
Sophia

Hello guys!

I try to find any of the text in the filter list (E2:E4) within cell A2. The formula I found is returning "1" only for the first word in the filter list, i.e. kni. image description

It does not work for "pan" or "chocolate". Regular expressions are enabled. image description image description

I appreciate the help as always! Sophia

FOLLOW UP QUESTION: This is what I have in mind: an accounting sheet with categories assigned to transactions from my bank account.

Categories are Food, Rent, Car, Phone, Shopping, with filter words in each of the categories.

I want the formula to search C colume, starting at C9, and assign a catogory in D colume same row (pink arrow) based on the work of what filter list was found. E.g. if the description contains "cafe", category "Food" is assigned. If the description contains "maverik", category "Car" is assigned. Etc. Please see img and ODS file below:

Here is the actual ODS file: C:\fakepath\example.ods

EXAMPLE FILE 2: the array formula does not work after adding two new inputs (cafe, elevate) in the C colume.

2020-08-31 02:46:58 +0200 marked best answer IF function with multiple nested function?

Hello!

I am trying to put together a IF function that uses 2 conditions, which results in 5 combinations. I hope somebody can help me.

image description

This is how its supposed to work:

if C4=yes and C2>3 return "buy"

if C4=yes and C2<2 return "sell"

if C4=no and C2>2 return "buy"

if C4=no and C2<1 return "sell"

otherwise "keep"

I tried multiple ways to nest the conditions in one function but have failed miserably so far. Does anyone know how to do it?

Sophia
