2015-11-04 18:38:19 +0200 answered a question how to increase the font size throughout my entire 200 page document?

Alternatively, use Styles. If all your text is in the Default style, for example, edit that style (hit F11 or the 'Styles and Formatting' button) to change the font size and it will be applied to everything that uses that style. It is easy to use different styles for headings, quotes or whatever you like.

2015-11-04 18:38:15 +0200 answered a question How do I delete "Anchor" in Writer so objects can be moved?

'Anchor' doesn't mean the image can't be moved. It just means it is connected to something on the page. For example, anchor to paragraph, then delete some text above the paragraph so it moves up and the image will move with it. If you want it freely floating on the page then anchor it to the page, then you can drag it where you like.

2015-11-04 18:38:12 +0200 asked a question Out of phase dashed connectors

I am using Draw 4.4.5.2 to create a diagram, with images joined up with connectors. I can have a number of connectors going from one image branching off to, say, four others. The lines, therefore, overlap for some of their length. If I set the line to any dashed style in is very hard to get the dashes to line up, and they end up filling in the gaps. I have tried setting images to whole mm sizes, snapping to grid, using alignment and distribution options etc. Is there a way to do this? Is there any way I can edit the line style to change the dash spacing to a round number, for example?

Yes, the current version of MS Office can open ODT files. If they have an earlier version that can't open them, then you can save your documents from LibreOffice as DOC files. File|Save As, then click the Save as Type choose "Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003(.doc)" from the list.

2014-03-12 14:32:03 +0200 answered a question "clear direct formatting" doesn't work

I have just found the answer. The offending paragraphs are numbered, and the numbering style has its own indent settings which appear to take priority over the paragraph style.

Using LO 4.1.5.3 on Win7 Pro 64. I often have to work with existing documents that have been directly formatted and try to apply styles to them. Very often, applying the style changes the character formatting, but does not change the paragraph formatting.

For example, the directly applied 'Indent before text' is 2cm. I set the style to 1cm and apply the style to the paragraph, but the paragraph is still set to 2cm. RMB and "Clear direct formatting" has no effect. I try changing to a different paragraph style and back again, still it is 2cm. CTRL-M and Format|Clear Direct Formatting likewise do nothing. I have saved the original DOC as an ODT and tried all the above again, but still it doesn't clear it. I am faced with directly editing every paragraph individually. Why doesn't this work?
