2012-05-04 18:32:23 +0200 asked a question [FEATURE REQUEST] Built-in Image Editor

I think a new built-in image editor for Writer will be a great feature because many times I create tutorials, I insert many images as is. I insert many images without any editing, without any cropping. So I should edit all of my pictures after my document done.

It is great if LibreOffice Writer has build-in/internal image editor, even if the image editor only can do cropping. Okay sure, if it can do many tasks, it will be more advantageous and more efficient. But I like even if there is a crop feature only provided. And developer maybe has known, outside there people (sometimes) only have office suite and don't have any image editor. And I admit if it will be easier, comforter, more advanced if Writer can do this internally. So people dont need to open GIMP or Shotwell or Paint anymore. Enough with Writer.

I get this idea from Shutter and Microsoft Office. That's all of my idea.

2012-05-04 18:06:12 +0200 asked a question [FEATURE REQUEST] Convert Image Format Inside LibreOffice

I make some tutorials with Writer, and I use many pictures. But all of my images (screenshot) in PNG format. All people know that size of same picture on JPEG is smaller than in PNG. If I do Edit with external tool, I will do many steps to convert the format. In example:

  1. I do right click to the picture, edit with external tool.
  2. Eye of GNOME opened. Ctrl+Shift+S, save as JPG.
  3. Delete first picture inside document.
  4. Copy picture (JPG) outside and paste in document. (*)

That is too long steps, and people will get it longer and longer if there are many pictures in document. It is different with this scenario:

  1. Right click on picture, convert to (select format:) JPG.

And this scenario for multiple pictures in a document:

  1. Click in a menu icon, select Convert All Pictures to (select format:) JPG.

Okay, and sure if a picture or all converted, old picture will be deleted. So there is only 1 picture remain. This feature will help many people to decrease/compress their document size (for sending or e-mail) and save many times because changing image format. That's all of my idea.

I think this idea is good for LibreOffice so it can works efficiently like Firefox or Chromium. I see this feature in IBM Lotus Symphony.

2012-05-04 17:42:58 +0200 asked a question [FEATURE REQUEST] External Multiconverter from ODF to PDF

I think people can make their own PDFs from many ODTs they have. But if there is no a module (or an application like that) that can accept multiple input of ODF then can convert them one by one to PDF in a same number, people will export them manually one by one. That is a boring job to be done.

I think people will be happy if this module included as a bundle on LibreOffice such as LibreOffice with Writer, Calc, and Impress. So, people will have Writer, Calc, Impress, and this modul (just call it "Exporter") if they install LibreOffice. That is my idea.
