I found a bug in outline mode, typing an outline.
For some reason, when using Roman numerals, some heading get excess space between the Roman numeral and the text of the heading.
Is there a way to fix this?
Is there a workaround?

Checking this setting might help. Go to the “Tools” menu and then “Outline Numbering…”. Along the top of the box select “Position” and in there for each level from 1 to 10 you can set the “Numbering followed by:” option to either Tab Stop, Space or Nothing. It looks like in your doc most are set to Space. VI, VII & VIII look like they have "Tab Stop"s. The default is Tab Stop. If settings in there have been tweaked then you can quickly reset them to defaults with the “Reset” button in the bottom right corner of the dialogue. Dunno if that will help but it’s worth checking anyway.
UPDATE. That is definitely a bug. The checks I mentioned above won’t fix the problem. I did a test in my LO Vanilla installation on my Mac on OSX and it did the same thing. It needs to be reported. Check my screen shot. link text
This bug was already reported long ago and affects versions from as far back as version 3 on Windows, Linux and OSX. They are working on it, but it’s tricky. Reply from Bugzilla says “It looks like this is a duplicate of bug 83103. I can see that it triggers starting from one character shorter numerals than the other one, but the cause must be fundamentally the same.” link text
Is there a workaround I can do to make my notes look presentable? Is there another Linux or web based app that will read LO outline format and fix/not have that problem?

My first few lines were messed up, but they were fixable and the excess white space went away.
