Thank you so much Radish, I've been pulling my hair out for week or two now. LO is Crashing constantly, but I like it so much that I'm trying to stick it out and find an answer. I read up on LO Portable, still don't understand the concept. It seems as though it is designed to Install to a Flash Drive, but can it be run from a Folder on my computer also?

I've been having issues with LO on Windows 7 64bit, so I was wondering what you all thought of running the Portable version until I get things figured out? I read a few things about it but they were all old, can someone shed some light as to how well this may or may not work with my setup?

Thanks, Convert22

I see others have had this same problem, but each one is a little different than mine. I wonder what has caused this? I was really happy to have LO on my Windows Installs but it don't seem to be working out, so sad. Still works great on all my linux boxes!

I guess I'll try to file a bug report.

Thanks floris v, I have Deleted all folders in an un-experienced attempt to fix all of this. I'm really irritated at all of this and my inability to fix it. All still works but this .~lock file keeps coming up and slowing things down. Again, it is ".~lock" that is the problem, and I think it was from opening files created in Office XP Professional, mostly .doc, or maybe even .rtf. I was working on some customer computers, and they had MS Office XP Professional, with the Compatibility Pack.

Sorry for all the post's but need to fix this. Here is something else that was left over from the 32bit install, that may be causing me these issues also. It was when running CCleaner that I saw it, and CCleaner seemingly is asking me to Remove it from Registry, but I can't find it.

Another attempt at fixing my life LOL(because I create lot's of documents) I used REVO PRO to uninstall LibreOffice again. The problem is I still see lot's of LO Folders in my Profile, why is that? Here is what I see, I guess I should Delete these before reinstalling? http://i.imgur.com/3tYCRlp.png

For some reason I now have all these Shortcut looking Icons on some of my System Folders, and, I can't get access to them. I don't need access to them at this time, but don't know what made these Folders like this? Wait, just realized, these look like LibreOffice Icons...and I've been having issues with LO Compatibility, sharing files with Microsoft Office XP, that is using the Compatibility Pack to read .docx etc. Here is a screenshot of what I'm seeing. link text

Okay, none of that fixed the issue? I just tried opening older .docx files that were created before I started having this issue, and still the same thing. Luckily I can still use everything as needed. Any further help would be very appreciated. Just to clarify, I renamed the user folder and the problem still existed, then Re-Installed LO and the problem is still there.

Okay, found it. But there is also an option to "Reset" as suggested to find the actual "user" Pathway at that Wiki: Tools ▸ Options ▸ LibreOffice ▸ Paths > Reset at bottom Right. Is this not an option, if not I'll just Rename "user" as "user-old" I also Backed up the user profile to another folder offline. Thanks, Convert22

I'll look into these things guys...thanks a lot! The docs are now in .doc with the Windows version of Tables in LO Writer. I've created a Template for the same with Writer but using .docx to try and get away from .doc. I just started another Thread because these .doc files...or Office XP with it's Compatibility Pack is got LO all messed up, and I'm not happy. LO was working so well, now all buggered up with terrible performance. Thanks, Convert22

Sorry couldn't find a better title, LO was not really infected by Office XP, but I think it is all messed up because of it. I've been working with lot's of files that are using this old system...Office XP, and it includes the File Converter to make it compatible with other newer Microsoft Office Suites. I think it is called the Compatibility Pack or something to that effect. Now my LibreOffice has slowed down and keep getting these "~.lock" files(for lack of better term) when opening a file and then they quickly disappear. I keep all my important files on a USB, and now I get this .lock file thingy and lot's of performance loss. Here is the Crash Report: crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/488e487e-8420-4e49-b4a9-2246280c2a70

The only thing that makes sense to me is this, and not a lot of sense, to me at least: "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ"

I'll also include this "LibreOffice Document Recovery" Screenshot. image description

Also did this in Writer with Tables to keep the information more compact, but don't know if this will be easy to search for customers.

Still nothing? no links or anything to create simple databases with Writer, Calc or Base. They would need to be easily read on a SmartPhone, Note etc. I have made some progress in Base but still don't know if this is what I even want. The Data starts to get to long/wide, I think it needs to be more compact. I may need to be in a Column format instead of a Row Format, does that make sense? Base and Calc are in Row Formats and the Information runs on too long to the Right.

Thanks my Finnish friend, I will pursue this tonight, hope it makes me faster!

EDIT: Seems to have gone fine, and the speed seems to be as it should now!

2016-12-22 00:43:23 +0200 ha posto una domanda Change 32bit to 64bit

The title says it all, I made the mistake of installing 32bit LO Fresh on my Main Windows 7 64-bit machine. The problem is, it is to slow. I then installed 64-bit LO to my other Laptop (Windows 8.1) that is a little more powerful (but not much more) and that LO Starts and runs much faster. So now I would like to get similar performance on my Main Laptop, hopefully by installing the 64bit version. Some may think there is no difference in the speed between them but I am willing to try because it is just way too slow.

They are both AMD A-8 Series CPU's with plenty of RAM, so they both should be capable of running LO at similar speeds I would think. I can't believe the speed difference, I almost Un-installed it on my Main Laptop until I saw how fast it is on the other.

So, can someone tell me the best way to do this? Don't want to muck about my Favorite Laptop and have leftover Config files etc. that may affect the performance of the new Installed LO. Should I use the built in Un-install tool via Programs and Features, or use something like REVO UNINSTALLER? Or, can it be just installed over with the 64bit Version?

Thanks Convert22

I see it Ratslinger, I did not follow that exact format. I thought "CollectionID" was same for all. I chose Business for starters. This is going to take a lot of work to learn I can see. I'm just struggling with how it all works together. I'll repeat it a few times and see what I can do with it all.

No "CollectionID" for me, tried many times to go back and make sure everything was done right. Would this have anything to do with 32bit LO installed? I just realized a fatal mistake of installing 32bit, should have asked first I guess. I did notice things were not all that fast, or perhaps this is just me. I run LO on Linux all the time and it is faster on lesser equipment. I created my Base but don't know what to do with it now LOL. I just selected "Automatically Select a Primary Key"
