How to create a template for two text boxes on a page.

I would like to create a layout (template) that meets the following conditions.
A. Letter size paper in landscape mode.
B. Page divided in two sections (text box like) with a dimension area of 4.0 x 7.0 inch. boarder.

What I am trying to do is to copy information (note taking) and then print it out and paste into a spiral notebook.

Please see a sample of what I am trying to do. Thanks ahead for any input.

Will text flow automatically from one “box” to the other? In this case, consider dividing your page into 2 columns with specific margins and gutter. You can even draw a border around your boxes.

If not (one box is in normal flow, the other is an “optional” comment area), define the “standard” writing area and add a frame.

Edit your question and detailed answer will follow.

This can be done using Frame. Insert 2 Frame side by side with one column. If you want to flow text from one frame to another then you can link frame 1 to frame 2. Please ensure you anchor two frame to page not paragraph. It looks like following,

Nope! Never anchor anything To page unless you are in DTP (desktop publishing) context. Anchoring to page will not result in what you expect. If OP wants a multi-page note book, To page anchor will not duplicate the frames on subsequent pages.

To page anchor is a false friend!

His request is layout. so it is DTP. Yes you are right if he want more pages than it might be boring to copy and paste those frames on subsequent pages.

If not anchor frame to pages than it might not be able to place it to where he want. Because frame overlap in anchor to paragraph option.

When dealing with frames, the best option is to use a frame style. where you can define all the parameters according to your needs. Contrary to common belief, anchor To paragraph allows to position the frame anywhere.

Even if Allow overlap is set by default, it can be manually reset and things will settle by themselves.
