I just installed the latest OpenOffice (4.1.2) and printed the SAME file to the SAME printer from the SAME computer. And guess what: The bold "u"s printed correctly. Therefore, I'm reasonably sure this is a regression bug in LibreOffice 5.x.

My OS is Windows 7 (as mentioned in my OP). There are no replacement fonts in Options / LO / Fonts. Windows fonts are "proper fonts" and are available to all programs. There is no need to "replace" them. This is clearly a LO bug, since (a) it worked before, and (b) it is a LO-only phenomenon. Yes, I would like further suggestions. TIA.

When printing a Calc document using LibreOffice 5.0.3.2 in Windows 7, I get squares with questionmarks inside them instead of the letter "u". Not all "u"s are affected. Some print correctly. It seems to occur inside words that are bold. Exporting to PDF doesn't have this problem, and printing from older versions also didn't have this problem.

Printer: XEROX FreeFlow 4112 PS. Font used: Calibri

UPDATE (17.12.2015): I've narrowed it down a bit: When I change the header text from my preferred "Calibri" to the default "Liberation Sans", the problem goes away for all bold "u"s (body and header) (even when the body text remains "Calibri"). For some reason, LibreOffice 5.x doesn't like Calibri to be in the header. For some reason, I cannot reproduce this with a new Calc document...

Oh, is there a bug number or issue number I can follow?

2015-10-21 19:45:48 +0200 コメント付き質問 LO 5.0 writer, calc printing images

I have the exact same issue. This started happening with LibreOffice 5.x. When I print a text document that has a graphic, the graphic is not printed. Instead, there is a black "smudge" across the top of the page. Printing the same file with OpenOffice 3.4.1 and previous versions of LibreOffice does not have this problem. Exporting the document to PDF and printing it also does not have this problem. So its clearly a regression in LibreOffice.

I did try to select multiple sheets and selecting Format / Print Ranges, but the "Clear" Menu-item was not selectable (possibly because one of the sheets already had no Print Range... But which one? Back to doing each one separately...). I still consider LibreOffice's behavior here unwanted (aka a bug).

OK, I found where to unhide these secretly created unwanted hidden sheets:

  1. Right-Click on the Sheets Tab-bar at the bottom,
  2. Select "Show..." from the Context Menu, and then Shift+select or Ctrl-select all needlessly created hidden Sheets.
  3. Then select each Sheet and select Data / Print Ranges / Clear (yes, you have to do each one separately).

Not a bug my a$$.

All of my Scenarios have "Copy entire sheet" deselected. Therefore, I consider printing/exporting sheets I had chosen to not create a bug.

How do I set the Print Area for the unwanted (hidden) sheets to None? Under Format / Print Ranges / Edit, all I see there is the print range I had defined (basically the part of the Sheet that I want, and Rows & Columns to repeat).

How can I unhide/show these hidden sheets?

Calc Scenarios Export to PDF creates extra pages with Scenario fields

I have a calc spreadsheet that uses scenarios (under: Tools / Scenarios). Also, the footer has page numbers. When I export the spreadsheet to PDF (via File / Export as PDF), Calc creates the PDF file with an extra page for each scenario. It also numbers the pages so that the scenario pages are also counted (the "Total Pages" number is wrong / too high). So, instead of getting "Page 1 of 5", Calc creates "Page 1 of 25" (when there are 20 Scenarios).

I can delete the unwanted scenario pages in the PDF file, but the incorrect page numbers cannot be fixed. Is this a bug, or is there a way to prevent Calc from creating additional pages for the Scenarios?

2013-11-18 21:45:45 +0200 コメント付き回答 Table of Contents single column width

My TOC is less than a half page tall, and the page contains regular content. So the page needs to have the same style as the other pages.

Is there no way to change the width of a TOC without breaking the page layout?
