How to DELETE a graph from a calc sheet?

Hello!
Please, Ihave makde a graph in calc sheet and can’t get rid of it, cause I do not want it on the page any more!
Please, where is the obion to delete it?ž
Many thanks!

Hi,

Click in one of the spreadsheet cells once or twice (but not as a double click). This will deselect the Chart in case it’s in edit mode.

Then left click on the chart to select it (do not double click it as this goes into edit mode). Press the delete key on your keyboard. Or, you can right click on the chart to get a menu choice to cut it. There may not be a delete menu choice.

This method worked for me on 3/28/17. Thanks

This is it. +1. Charts are still a usability disaster. I would rather they rip out the whole Excel-inspired crud andd replace it by a command line to ggplot2.

I had problems trying to delete a chart (graph) in Calc. I kept getting the error message “This function cannot be completed with the selected objects”. I followed the instructions from several different sites, but nothing worked. What finally worked for me was to perform the following steps:
close and save the spreadsheet
open the spreadsheet
select the object (chart, graph, etc)
press delete key
I do not know why, but doing anything else will display the error message and the chart will remain.

I suggest playing with charts and graphs in a disposable copy of the original spreadsheet.

I had the exact same experience and then when I went to retrieve the file after closing out of Calc, it was gone…searched the entire drive. Very frustrating. This appears to be a major “bug” in Calc.
