template not copying user-defined format, normal behavior?

Hi,

Just out of curiousity. When within a template I create a user-defined number in “format cells” and assign this to a (new) style, the style gets copied into documents based on that template, but the user-defined number is not, making the copied style kinda worthless. Is that normal behavior, or am I perhaps doing something wrong?

Please what is the user-defined number doesn’t working?

What do you mean? I don’t quite understand your question. In the template create a user-defined number under format cells->numbers. Create a new style and apply your new user-defined number to that style. Save the template. Open a document based on the template and choose to update styles. The style will now appear in the document, but on the “numbers” tab “standard” will be selected instead of the user-defined number you created in the template.

What is the number format that you have defined and not saved?

The number IS saved within the template, but does not copy to documents based on that template. A user-defined number could be for example: #.##0;“WRONG” This only shows positive numbers and shows the text “WRONG” when the number is 0 or negative.
