Can I read Microsoft office documents with libre office?

Since so many people use Microsoft office, I wanted to understand if libre office documents can be ready Microsoft office, and of Microsoft Office created documents can be read in libre office

Yes! Microsoft Office 2010 and higher can read Writer, Impress and Calc formats (not sure about Draw), and LibreOffice can read Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio formats. Sometimes there may be issues with some formattings not getting rendered correctly, but these are getting fewer with newer versions.

The one thing which requires a workaround is Base–Access: to convert from one to the other, you have to export your tables to a spreadsheet format, the import them on the other end.

@stanton Just informational. Base can connect to an Access DB with the proper connector. On Linux I use UCanAccess and I believe Windows uses ODBC (forms & macros excluded).
