2016-12-04 05:16:40 +0200 질문에 답변하였습니다 Can I input a date earlier than year 1583 in LO (Base and Calc)?

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: Libreoffice stores date values as a number. The number represents the number of days from an arbitrary reference date. In the case of Libreoffice calc, the default reference date is 30 Dec 1899. Dates earlier than this are simply stored as negative numbers. Other options for reference dates can be chosen under Preferences > LibreOffice Calc >> Calculate.

I'm impressed that you have been able to trace your family back this far.

Are you aware that there are specific applications for genealogical projects? One free, cross-platform and open-source example is Gramps (https://gramps-project.org).

2016-12-01 06:07:09 +0200 질문에 답변하였습니다 Help writing a formula

How about showing us what your calc syntax looks like, and providing some example data with correct and incorrect answers? I would have thought:

If T value is in cell A1, and the angle A is in cell B1, then the formula for R for example in cell C1 = 2*A1*COS(B1/2) would be what you want.

Are you sure the calculator answer is correct? Angle A measured in degrees or radians? Calculator correctly handles the sequence of operations?

You could try breaking down the formula and calculating each part separately, e.g. do you get the same answer from calculator and calc for just COS(A/2) aka =COS(B1/2)?

Edit:

I just found this (https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Mat...):

COS Returns the cosine of the given angle (in radians).

Syntax COS(Number)

Returns the (trigonometric) cosine of Number, the angle in radians.

To return the cosine of an angle in degrees, use the RADIANS function.

Examples

=COS(PI()2) returns 1, the cosine of 2PI radians.

=COS(RADIANS(60)) returns 0.5, the cosine of 60 degrees.

So maybe what you need is:

=2*A1*COS(RADIANS(B1/2))

2016-12-01 05:43:00 +0200 질문에 답변하였습니다 Why can't I save docs as PDFs and all my PDFs turn into Wordpad??

There is a difference between the format files are saved in and the application used to open them. There may be nothing wrong with your PDFs (a file format), just the application (e.g. Wordpad) that you are attempting to open them with. Wordpad is a simplified word processor and is not meant for PDFs.

If you export to PDF from within LibreOffice, does it save a PDF file?

Do you have a PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, Foxit reader or PDF Xchange viewer, installed? Did your service person perhaps uninstall it?

Try specifically opening your PDF files in a PDF reader by either opening Acrobat Reader first and then from within that application opening your file or, in windows explorer, right-clicking the PDF file and choosing open with... and choosing your PDF reader from the list of applications. Do the files open OK?

If these things check out OK, then it is probably an issue with telling Windows what application to use by default to open PDF files. As you haven't told us what version of Windows you are running, see here for multiple instructions: https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-chang...

On OSX, for software distributed as disk images (.dmg), installation is as simple as copying the .dmg file to applications. Does LO now appear in your Applications folder? Does LO appear in Launchpad? You should be able to start it from either location.

If you have trouble starting LO and see messages about 'verifying' or 'unknown developers', have a look here: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT202491 or change your settings under System Preferences >> Security and Privacy.

2016-11-29 05:04:09 +0200 질문에 답변하였습니다 APA-Style Graphs

As no-one else has responded, and at the risk of embarrassing myself, I can't find any obvious way to extend the x-axis scale beyond the categories for a line chart either. Someone else might know better. Annoyingly, Excel does what you want by default. You might like to submit an enhancement request.

For a work-around, see here: https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/questi... But in your case, with only two categories, this probably produces too much space on either side.

If you instead use a scatterplot with points and lines, you can get the format you want, but the x-axis becomes a numerical scale. An ugly hack, if you are in a hurry to produce something, is to use the scatterplot and suppress the x-axis labels. You can then add your category labels manually, with text boxes.

The legend can simply be dragged and re-sized as desired.

For high-resolution, publication-ready graphs I can recommend the open-source R project (https://www.r-project.org), but it does come with a learning curve.

2016-11-29 03:43:03 +0200 질문에 답변하였습니다 Reverse value: "07-03-2014" to "2014-03-07

Find and replace should work, with regular expressions.

In the find and replace dialogue, under other options, make sure regular expressions is checked.

Then search for: ([0-9]{2})-+([0-9]{2})-+([0-9]{4})

and replace with: $3-$2-$1

This searches for a pattern of two digits, a dash, two digits, a dash, and four digits. It then simply reverses the order of the components. See https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/L... for more detail.

It worked for a simple example in both a text document and a spreadsheet, but it is not extensively tested. Someone with greater skills in using regular expressions may be able to improve on this. Hope it helps.

2016-08-11 04:25:14 +0200 질문에 답변하였습니다 Stacked bar chart, multiple rows

Perhaps the easiest way is by rearranging your data. This can be done with a pivot table, so that you end up with dates as rows, usernames as columns and quantities as data. Remember to de-select row and column totals, as you probably don't want them included in your barchart. From there, simply selecting a stacked barchart should give you want you want.

2016-08-10 07:51:46 +0200 질문에 답변하였습니다 How do I turn a power curve trendline equation into a predictive column?

The figures you have given match a power trendline rather than an exponential trendline, as drawn by calc. I may be wrong, but isn't the formula simply f(x)=8369.72*A1^-0.8242118082 ? This yields predicted values that seem to match the drawn curve.

I have a fresh install of Kubuntu 16.04 with KDE PLasma version 5.5. I just checked and I do have "Create new... LO calc...; LO Writer...; etc on the right-click context menu in Dolphin. These are installed by package "libreoffice-kde" (I checked by uninstalling it and the context menu items disappeared). OpenSuse seems to have a package by the same name. You could check to see if that is installed. The direct download of the latest version of LibreOffice includes a package called "kde-integration". I don't know for sure if this provides similar functionality.

2016-01-07 02:30:09 +0200 질문에 답변하였습니다 Is there any website that is not at all connected to LO that I can contact that has absolutely no affiliations with LO?

Firstly, yes, I believe so. Secondly, most/many of the people contributing to this site have no official connection to the LO organisation, but are simply users of the software trying to 'give something back' in return for great free software, and they may find some of your comments disappointing if not actually insulting. Thirdly, you do not help yourself in this matter by not stating which version of LO or even which operating system you are using, as you are specifically asked to do every time you post a question. On some operating systems, the LO built-in help is a separate download and installation, without which it reverts to the online help. Fourthly, the only way I can reproduce anything like your description, particularly the part about 'the second and subsequent pages are now way way to the left of the top page', is by changing the view to book view. Make sure the status bar is visible (View-->Status Bar is ticked). Then , in the status bar at the very bottom of the window, on the right hand side, next to the zoom control, you can switch between book view, multiple-page view and single-page view. If this is the issue, select single-page view and adjust the level of zoom to whatever works for you. ( https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/questi... ). If this is not your issue, perhaps further description or a screenshot would help members of the LO community to help you.

Not to denigrate LibreOffice at all, if you are doing a lot of desktop publishing and would like to use an open-source tool, you could also have a look at Scribus ( http://www.scribus.net ). It is open-source, and cross-platform. It will allow you, for example, to 'flow' text from one text box to another and gives very fine control over columns and margins in individual text boxes.

It could be due to OSX's security settings. Under default security settings, applications that are not installed through the App Store and are not from 'identified' developers seek verification when opened. If this is the case, you can follow the directions at https://support.apple.com/kb/PH14369?... or simply change the setting at System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Allow apps downloaded from:.

2015-02-13 23:01:05 +0200 질문에 답변하였습니다 Help - Sidebar missing

The sidebar is no longer considered an experimental feature. Getting it back should be as simple as choosing 'Sidebar' from the View menu. Another possibility is that it is active but hidden. In that case look for a button in the middle of the very thin side border to the right of the scroll bar. When your pointer is over it a tip box should say "show".
