Large red arrows in calc?

I have a spreadsheet that is displaying red arrows that are the same height as the cells and are comically large in the sheet. They seem to be indicating the alignment of the cells but I cannot figure out how to turn them off.

heres a pic:

The red arrows indicate that the cell’s contents are too wide for the cell. You should be able to turn them off by selecting all cells (click on the empty box to the left of the column label “A”), then on the menu choose Format/Column/Optimal Width.

I don’t know why your red arrows are so large. You might want to submit a bug report.

Setting the column width does remove the arrows so it appears that these are the overflow arrows but enlarged for whatever reason. I’m suspicious of the font. I haven’t had a chance to work on it since submitting the question but I suspect this was an excel file that was using a font with a different version on the file creators machine. If I get back to it I’ll try to post more info. Thanks.

Please can you link a sample file with the minimum cells to see the issue?

Please what is your OS and your LibreOffice version?
