Database does not support relations - Joins and relationships in Base - is it possible?

Hi group,

Just wondering if this is doable in Base…I know it’s doable in Access.

I am using the Mac version by the way.

I have a Calc file with three tabs.

I import it into Base by connecting to my Calc file in the wizard. All three tables appear in Base.

When I try to run a join, either via SQL or the wizard, I get an error saying that it can’t be done because more than one table is selected (that’s the point :-D).

When I try to create a relationship, I get an error that says the database does not support relations.

I have to use a Mac because it’s what everyone here uses…I would be happier in Access, but also happy if I could do it in Base too  TIA!

You can have relationship in form level; I am using it.

Thanks MQ, but I’m not sure it answered my question since I could not get to the relationship window at all before because of the error. It wasn’t that I didn’t know it was possible, it was that something was wrong with the way Base imported the Calc file to create the tables. This link explains exactly what was happening:

It also looks like I can run SQL queries now, so I am happy! But I will remember your answer if I need to set up forms. Thanks again.
