How can I search for text in endnotes?

I need to verify that authors listed in the References are actually cited in the text; and this needs to include the endnotes. However, when I use the Ctrl+F function, the endnotes are not included in the search. In Word I can select “text” or “text and endnotes” etc. How can I make sure the endnotes are included in my search of the document?

Thanks

Hi @jdsmint,

However, when I use the Ctrl+F function, the endnotes are not included in the search. In Word I can select “text” or “text and endnotes” etc. How can I make sure the endnotes are included in my search of the document?

(Testing on Ubuntu 12.04.2; LO 4.0.0.3)

Here’s a test I just did:

  1. Open LO Writer
  2. Paste-in some text that doesn’t include the words [dinosaur, spinach]
  3. Insert → Footnote/Endnote → (footnote selected be default) → click OK
  4. Type “I like dinosaur meat”
  5. Click elsewhere in my text
  6. Insert → Footnote/Endnote → Select “Endnote” → click OK
  7. Type “I like spinach”
  8. Click back into the main text
  9. Type CTRL-F
  10. Search for “dinosaur”, then search for “spinach”

What happened: I found dinosaur in the footnote, and spinach in the endnote.

Conclusion: Works for me
