I’m aware this has been asked as a question (not a feature request) before, but it would be a very useful feature if it was possible to search by the very good descriptive names present in the Unicode standard in the Insert Special Characters dialog - as it already is in other word processors, such as Google Docs.
Especially in maths and sciences, various semi-obscure symbols are often used, and they’re quite hard to find manually - it would significantly increase my efficiency in writing this kind of documents in LO if this feature was to be implemented, as I have to keep another window open constantly to search for these characters as it is.
I’m not a programmer (well, kind of, but I can’t code anything but lame console games), so I don’t know what kind of coding challenges this entails, but I would be very grateful if it was possible.
