The question I am asking really refers to any date. Can one calculate time (either in days or years) between a past date (in a date field) and today. I know this can easily be done in Libre Office Calc, but I am wondering if it can be done in Libre Office Base. I am not familar with sql, so I was wondering if this could be done in a design query or through a wizard. I am also interested in knowing how to calculate time between two date fields, and two hour/minute fields (in minutes). I am currently trying to transfer some of my data and queries from Lotus Approach which was very user friendly for those who do not know sql. However, if this cannot be done any other way is there a Libre Office tutorial or textbook to learn sql for libre office base? Thanks for any help you can give. The learning curve between a simple minded use of Approach and Base is a difficult one for me.

I am working on a split database in Libre Office Base Version: 5.4.5.1, on Linux Mint Sylvia. I have a calendar in which I need the week numbers in the year and the day numbers. UPDATE "NEWYEAR" SET "DAYNUM"= DAYOFWEEK ("Date") UPDATE "NEWYEAR" SET "Week" = WEEK ("Date")

Now when I request the daynumbers (the number 1 is Sunday as the first day of the week. But when I request the week number as above, Sunday is the last day in the week.

How do I get these numbers to concur. I would prefer to have Sunday as the first day of the week in both cases if that is possible.

Thanks

2019-05-15 14:57:04 +0200 Marcada como a melhor resposta How to update multiple fields in LO Base?

I would like to update several fields from table2 into table 1 in LIBRE OFFICE BASE using SQL based on the equivalence of one ID field in both tables. I have tried the following solutions which I found online and most seem to have failed when the sql sequence met the first parentheses except for the Merge attempt which failed on its own. Here is what I have tried and the results - DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANYTHING THAT WORKS?:

Try #1 UPDATE table1 t1 SET (t1.column1, t1.column2) = (SELECT t2.column1, t2.column2 FROM table2 t2 WHERE t1.id = t2.id) WHERE EXISTS ( SELECT 1 FROM table2 t2 WHERE t1.id = t2.id )

----*Failed: Unexpected token: ( in statement [update "T1" set (]

Try #2

UPDATE (SELECT t1.id, t1.column1, t1.column2, t2.column1, t2.column2 FROM table1 t1, table2 t2 WHERE t1.id = t2.id) SET t1.column1 = t2.column1, t1.column1 = t2.column1

-----Failed* Unexpected token: ( in statement [UPDATE (]

Try #3

merge into t2 t2 using (select * from t1) t1 on (t2.user_id = t1.user_id) when matched then update set t1.c1 = t2.c1 , t1.c2 = t2.c2

---- Failed: Unexpected token: MERGE in statement [merge]

Try#4

update t1 set (c1, c2, c3) = (select c1, c2, c3 from t2 where t2.user_id = t1.user_id) where exists (select * from t2 where t2.user_id = t1.user_id)

----*Failed: Unexpected token: ( in statement [update "T1" set (]

Try#5

update table1 t1 set ( t1.column1, t1.column2 ) = ( select t2.column1, t2.column2 from table2 t2 where t2.column1 = t1.column1 ) where exists ( select null from table2 t2 where t2.column1 = t1.column1 );

---Failed * ERROR MESSAGE "t1" set (]

DOES ANYONE HAVE AN SQL COMMAND THAT WOULD WORK WITH BASE IN THIS INSTANCE? THANK YOU!

I have just switched to Libre Office BuilVersion: 6.0.7.3 Build ID: 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.2d ID: 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.2, and to Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon from 18.3. I am using a split-database. All seems to be working more or less correctly with the changeover, but now I cannot any longer open any reports I previously made and which formerly opened under my previous version of libre office 5.? and Linux Mint 18.3. The only message I get when attempting to open a report is: The document "document name" could not be opened. Can anyone help me. I see someone had a similar problem some years back, but it doesnt seem to be my problem. I have tried this with some databases which are not split and seem to have the same problem.
