I notice that in previous versions to 26.2 Windows and in 26.2 Writer the default for pulldown Insert menu: “Envelope”, the size envelope that is inserted during a letter that’s getting edited is not a number #10 envelope 9.50″X 4.13″ but an envelope that measures 9.50″ X 6.31″. Useless. And if I could attach a screenshot, it is easily seen that the format for the incorrect size envelope presents a header ‘Right Page Header (Envelope)’ 8 rows down the form, forcing the sender’s address nearly to the bottom of the form and shoves the recipients address off the form entirely. Then I must raise the header, then move my address (Sender) up near the top of the envelope form AFTER ADJUSTING THE MARGINS WHICH ARE ALIGNED TO THE EDGE OF THE LEFT MARGIN. And now retype the recipients address that has fallen off the form. When will this fault get corrected? My solution is to make the default in Writer measure 9.50" X 4.13" regardless of the name of the envelope.
Set the envelope size in the Envelope dialogue, it should stay with that setting until altered:
- Click Insert > Envelope
- In the dialogue, select #10 Envelope. Check that the dimensions are as expected, 24.13 cm = 9.50", 10.48 cm = 4.13"
- Click the button Insert
Maybe, if some affected person reports a bug…
