Using the latest version (updated last week!) it’s a two click job - view, then images and charts, 9th down on the list. You don’t even have to tick a box.
I am posting a solution because the others did not help me at all.
For me the problem is that the image has lots of metadata (e.g. exif, xmp, color profile).
When you are an exporting an image (eg a .tif version), if you strip all these metadata, then the libre writer or some other version of this software should be able to display it properly.
