7.5 Cursor Jumping

I’m using version 7.5 on Macbook Pro and has been ok. I upgraded (reminded by Libroffice) to 7.6 and I have the cursor juping around and back and up and down as I type, so I’m editing the wrong paragraph

And when that’s not happening the text is being duplicated on screen so I have 2 copies of the paragraph, on on top of the other with the cursor lost somewhere in between until I scroll u and down and clear the duplication and find the cursor…

Is this a known problem? As a fix I reconfigured the 7.5 version, but the problem is still there.

btw, no I’m not messing with the touchpad or anything else - this is a programme issue where scrolling and movingthe cursor creates the glitch.

Can anyone suggest a fix? Thanks

Have you switched on the direct cursor mode?
Edit > Direct cursor mode menu.

Thanks - I tried toggling that mode but no effect. There appears to be a lag with the program responding to mouse scrolling or repositioning the cursor.

First the document doesn’t move, then jumps away to the new scroll position, but leaves the original text on screen, so I then have 2 pages one over the other, and it won’t clear the page its moved from, so when clicking the mouse again there’s two layers of text… and I’m working with quad core processors - so the lag is definitely in libreoffice, as nothing else is affected

Now try First steps
