All my documents have disappeared from files and desktop. How do I retrieve them?
This might be an operating system question. What operating system and version? You can click LibreOffice help - About LibreOffice and click the icon next to Version Information to copy. Please click the pencil icon to edit your question and then paste the details.
Have you used the file manager to look for the documents?
We have seen “here” some people with problems managing their files in “the cloud”. So, if your files are on dropbox Gdrive etc check, if you are logged in and you may want to keep an “offline copy” (yes I know this is old behaviour…)

“Documents disappearing from files” sounds like a problem of physically removing some paper from plastic document holders.
My idea was more like his unknown desktop showing usually a section named “files” like windows has documents (and its localised alias).

Unlikely case: Android app “files” not showing data, because SD-card not accessible. Have seen that once, but we don’t see much users from android here…
