Apply a custom style to text within bookmarks

I’m using Writer with the Zotero plugin, but because my supervisor uses Microsoft, I need to be able to easily retain Zotero citations. This can be done by converting them to bookmarks in Writer, which is all good, but they get lost in the text [when they are Zotero citations, they are highlighted in grey]. Is there a way to create a style for the text within bookmarks?
At the moment, I have bookmark formatting marks turned on, but they’re not particularly visible in chunks of text, and it’d be great if there was a way to format the text so that it stands out.

Or if there’s way to edit the style of the formatting marks themselves - so turn the blue bracket bold fluorescent green for example?

Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks!

There is an orderly list of Bookmarks in the Sidebar, in the Navigator pane. Double-clicking should take you directly to each mark.

BTW to avoid conversion corruption you should all use the same software.

Thanks, but it’s not about navigating the bookmarks, I just need to be able to see them easily within the text when I’m reviewing my work - it’s an academic paper, so correct referencing is hugely important.

(And yep, ideally we’d use the same, but I don’t want to switch to Word, and she’s too set in her ways to try LibreOffice - had that conversation - so I just need a workaround)

There is no such thing as bookmark formatting because a bookmark is only a tool for the author which does not translate as an item for the reader. A bookmarked sequence may eventually be captured in a cross-reference for citation else where but that’s practically all you can do with it inside your text.

If your task is to review the citations (locatable through their bookmark), follow @EarnestAl’s procedure: double-click on the Bookmarks items one after the other in the Navigator sidepane.
