Arrows Not Rendering

Arrows will not render.

I tried:

Ensuring that images and object were enabled

Using hardware acceleration

Using Skia rendering

Which arrows? Your screenshot shows only some black rectangle selected over black background. What is inside? What is the save format?

Usually a screenshot has low informative value. It is better to attach a sample file.

If you click File > Print Preview do you see the arrows?

Arrows from menu Insert - Shape - Block Arrows includes a little gray circle to reshape it, and its area is blue. So it seems that its not this kind of arrows.

An .svg image with a black arrow would render black over black. So, no automatic white color (like text).

Post editing seems to be non-functional at this time (can not interact with text field) so I must post the sample file in a comment: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16n3uYNrMiE6HKhzdjwczxVMrjtbxFgZs/view?usp=sharing

I see nothing.

Command in use is Arrow Shapes. There are no images involved.

There is a white rectangular object over the front of your page, try sending it to the back or deleting it

I see no Arrow Shapes (but Block Arrows) in menu Insert - Shapes.

There are two shapes in it. But both of them seem to be empty. Maybe a bug.

Can you test in Safe Mode?

There is not / this is not the cause because only the arrow tool was used.

Maybe.
The content.xml file is seemingly missing data.

I already reinstalled, but I will do so again and manually scour for any remnant files.

Sample file made with safe mode: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sm6fCYtp51TEGDObKbaYfs6hoVXDuMlm/view?usp=sharing

Clean reinstalling had no effect. Arrows made with Arrow Shapes command are still invisible regardless of color or line thickness.

I have not this option in menu Insert - Shape. Can you share a screenshot of it? Thanks.

The English UI says Block Arrows, and so says the Help page.
Maybe you are working with the Gallery (by default in the right sidebar).

Search for command “arrow shapes” and you will find it.

I am not using Gallery.

Thanks for sharing.
I just inserted this command, and it’s the same that Block Arrows:

In the sample file shared there is a line of code:

<draw:enhanced-geometry draw:type=“non-primitive”/>

I inserted an arrow in an empty document, and the code says:

<draw:enhanced-geometry svg:viewBox=“0 0 21600 21600” draw:text-areas=“0 ?f0 ?f5 ?f2” draw:type=“right-arrow” draw:modifiers=“16200 5400” draw:enhanced-path=“M 0 ?f0 L ?f1 ?f0 ?f1 0 21600 10800 ?f1 21600 ?f1 ?f2 0 ?f2 Z N”>
<draw:equation draw:name=“f0” draw:formula="$1 “/>
<draw:equation draw:name=“f1” draw:formula=”$0 “/>
<draw:equation draw:name=“f2” draw:formula=“21600-$1 “/>
<draw:equation draw:name=“f3” draw:formula=“21600-?f1 “/>
<draw:equation draw:name=“f4” draw:formula=”?f3 *?f0 /10800”/>
<draw:equation draw:name=“f5” draw:formula=”?f1 +?f4 “/>
<draw:equation draw:name=“f6” draw:formula=”?f1 *?f0 /10800”/>
<draw:equation draw:name=“f7” draw:formula=”?f1 -?f6 “/>
<draw:handle draw:handle-position=”$0 $1" draw:handle-position-x="$0" draw:handle-position-y="$1" draw:handle-range-x-minimum=“0” draw:handle-range-x-maximum=“21600” draw:handle-range-y-minimum=“0” draw:handle-range-y-maximum=“10800”/>
</draw:enhanced-geometry>

There seems to be a problem.

In HelpSearch Commands search for “shape”.

For a line shape, the HUD shows the Insert ShapeLine submenu items, while for other types (Basic, Arrow, Symbol, Star, Callout, Flowchart) just the command available in
the InsertShape menu.

In case of arrows that would be the plain .uno:ArrowShapes command.⠀

If you run the macro below

sub ArrowShapes
document   = ThisComponent.CurrentController.Frame
dispatcher = createUnoService("com.sun.star.frame.DispatchHelper")
dispatcher.executeDispatch(document, ".uno:ArrowShapes", "", 0, Array())
end sub

and draw the shape, the result will be similar to the one described earlier, i.e., a white rectangular object (missing data in the content.xml file).
