Very good information. Could the FAQ list possibly be updated? It would be excellent information especially for new comers.
I have raised a corresponding bug to get the FAQ page updated: fdo#67108.
Can someone confirm that users with karma points 500 (and more) can accept any answer (mark an answer as correct)?
@manj_k, I have accepted your answer, so confirmed. EDIT: Well, the green tick highlights, but the answer itself does not.
@oweng – Thanks a lot, great that it works! So there are a lot of regular contributors who can accept answers (mark them as correct). That may reduce the number of “Unanswered questions” in the future …

FYI: @mariosv · @Pedro1 · @JohnSUN · @ROSt53 · @horst · @w_whalley · @dajare · @razon_22 · @L-user · @carnendil · @petermau · @…
Thank you for the heads up, @manj_k
EDIT: Maybe we should agree only to do that if an up-voted answer has remained un-accepted for over a month or so? Just to make sure that we don’t mark as accepted an answer the doesn’t suit the person who asked the question?
@Pedro1, I agree. I am always a bit reluctant to determine what is correct for someone else. Sometimes it is fairly obvious, but sometimes it is unclear. @manj_k, thanks for raising this issue.

@Pedro1, @oweng – And yes, the required basic skill is empathy. We should not contribute to statistics but rather to the users.
